Flatbed Towing in Knoxville, TN

All-wheel drive SUV, lowered sports car, a vehicle that won’t roll after an accident or a classic you want handled with care: some vehicles should ride with all four wheels off the road. We carry them on a flatbed across Knoxville and Knox County, 24/7.

Flatbed or wheel-lift?

Which truck does your vehicle need?

Pick what you drive or the condition it’s in. We’ll show you how it should be towed and why.

Flatbed recommended

Front-wheel-drive car

Most FWD cars can be towed safely with a wheel-lift, front wheels up. A flatbed is still the better choice for long trips or if there is any damage.

Flatbed

  • All four wheels off the road
  • No wear on the drivetrain
  • Best for AWD, EVs, lowered, luxury and damaged vehicles
  • The right choice for long-distance trips

Wheel-lift

  • Two wheels lifted, two rolling
  • Fits tight parking garages and narrow driveways
  • Fine for many FWD cars on short trips
  • Often a little cheaper

How we load

Careful from the first strap to the drop-off

A flatbed is only as good as the way the vehicle is loaded. The bed tilts down to the ground, we pull the vehicle up slowly with the winch, and we secure it by the wheels with straps over the tires, not by the suspension or the bumper.

Before we leave, we check the straps, the clearance under the front bumper and the lights. When we reach your home, shop or dealer, the vehicle comes off the same way it went on: slowly, in a straight line, with nobody standing behind it.

Around Knoxville

Where a flatbed makes the difference

1

Steep driveways

Hillside homes in South Knoxville and the ridges of North Knox County often call for a flatbed and a winch rather than a quick hook-up.

2

Interstate wrecks

After a crash on I-40 or I-75, damaged wheels and bent suspensions usually mean the vehicle won’t roll. A flatbed takes it straight to the body shop.

3

Dealer trips

Taking an AWD SUV or an EV to a dealer along Kingston Pike or Alcoa Highway? A flatbed keeps the drivetrain and warranty questions out of the picture.

Questions

Flatbed towing questions

Does my AWD car really need a flatbed?

In most cases, yes. Many all-wheel-drive vehicles keep power going to every wheel, so towing with two wheels on the ground can damage the drivetrain. Unless the owner’s manual says otherwise, we carry AWD vehicles on a flatbed with all four wheels off the road.

How much does flatbed towing cost in Knoxville?

Flatbed transport usually costs about 20–30% more than a wheel-lift tow. For reference, a local tow of up to about 10 miles typically runs $75–$195 and longer tows are priced as a hook-up fee of $50–$125 plus $2–$7 per mile. We confirm the exact price on the phone before we roll.

Can you flatbed a car that doesn’t roll?

Yes. A seized wheel, a locked transmission or crash damage is a common reason to use a flatbed. The winch pulls the vehicle up the tilted bed, so it doesn’t need to roll on its own. Tell us about the condition when you call.

Is a flatbed better for a lowered or classic car?

Yes. A low front bumper, an aftermarket body kit or a classic car you don’t want strapped by its suspension should go on a flatbed. We load slowly, check the approach angle and secure the vehicle by the wheels.
